I got email from DIAC of behalf of CO:

He is requesting PCC and Medicals, I have few questions:

1) IS PCC required only primary applicant? My wify added in my application?

2) How much time does it take to get PCC done from India?

3) Please specify, if anything done on priority over other (PCC or Medical)?

4) On my online application status, CO is requesting AFP certificate: CO email does not specify on anything but PCC reqested from countries i stayed more than 12 months, I have stayed in Australia for approximately 10 months, why hav they requested AFP from me? what should i do?

5) How much time does AFP certificate take?

Regards,

Amit.

Hi Amit,

I hope this helps:

1) IS PCC required only primary applicant? My wify added in my application?

Your wife will also have to provide the results of police checks.

3) Please specify, if anything done on priority over other (PCC or Medical)?

I do not understand this question.

4) On my online application status, CO is requesting AFP certificate: CO email does not specify on anything but PCC reqested from countries i stayed more than 12 months, I have stayed in Australia for approximately 10 months, why hav they requested AFP from me? what should i do?

This sounds like a mistake. If you have only spent 10 months in Australia in the last 10 years then a police check from Australia should not have been requested.

I am assuming that you are applying for a skilled visa though.

5) How much time does AFP certificate take?

Anywhere up to 28 days. Sometimes more.

PCC and medicals are required for both applicants.

You will have to contact your local passport office, in some places, you may get it same day however, other places, it may take 3-7 days.

Good luck ..
Amit,

PCC and Medicals both are equally important. To reduce the burden, I suggest you to complete the medicals first as it takes hardly a day.

PCC works differently. You need to apply for PCC in the regional passport office. They in turn send your file to the local police station to inquire about you. Getting a PCC in quick time depends on the local police station, how fast they do things for you. For me it took 30 days, but for my wife it took just 10 days.

In your case AFP is not required as you did not stay in Australia for 12 months. Recheck with your CO on this.

All the best.
Hi All, I had submitted ACS online on 26th Oct and the status got as "To be Allocated" instantly. CO got assigned on 30th Oct however, the status has not changed since then. I think it should get as "In Process" right?

Anyone can share insights into whats the relevancy of status updates on ACS request?
Hi Can someone post the statuses in ACS , To be Allocated -> Then
