Being offered a package that includes a "club allowance". Much as I'd like to take up golf my other half isn't keen and with young kids I'm not too keen on spending the weekend mornings away from the family. So we've been thinking about beach clubs.

Anyone have any recommendations? We'd like it to fulfil a couple of functions - family entertainment (especially young kids) and a good spot to meet other expats and hopefully make a few friends.

it's worth asking if the company will give it to you in cash.
Does it HAVE to be spent on a Club - use it or lose it style?

I don't think we'd lose it if we don't use it ... But we're quite partial to the idea unless its just not the done thing and all we'll be doing is mixing with tourists

I have found that the "club" culture is more of an AD thing than a Dubai thing, simply because there are lot more entertainment opportunities in Dubai than in AD (though things are changing rapidly).
