I am British and my wife is here on a Spouse Visa (post 2012).
We are expecting our first child in the new year.
I wondered if there was any restriction on us applying for the UK Child benefit.
Does that affect my wife’s terms of not having access to public funds? And if so, Can I apply for Child Benefit under my name?

Can someone advice and let me know the options we have.

Your child, being British, you can get Child Benefit for. You as father have to apply, and it won't affect your wife's status.

Of course. Unless he is earning more than £50,000-£60,000 when Child Benefit payment is restricted or eliminated altogether, he can claim the full amount.
