So me and my GF are about to move to Spain, Barcelona or Malaga.

We want to learn Spanish while there. We have found a payable course in Barcelona called speakeasy, but everything we have found in Malaga are very expensive.

I want to ask if there is some kind of state sponsored courses available if one moves to Spain?

Also if someone has been to both Malaga and Barcelona, where would you prefer to live and why? :)

I just read in some of the other threads that the Escuale Oficial de Idiomas are the cheapest one. Does anyone know how much it costs? Are anyone able to enroll?

Some towns where there are a fair number of foreigners offer subsidised or free Spanish courses. I've seen them advertised on noticeboards at the town hall in places like Nerja and Estepona. Check the Ayuntamiento website, there may be a section for foreigners?

Barcelona is bigger, more crowded and more expensive than Málaga. Rents especially are hiigher. However, if you were looking for work, unemployment is lower in Barcelona and there may be more opportunities there.
