What are the cheap modes of travelling within dubai? Taxis are quite expensive. Do buses cover all the routes?
Kindly guide about Sharjah and Abu Dhabi as well.

There are buses operate within the city which I find it quite amazing. The buses are on time and quite clean apart from rush hours you can smell sweat everywhere.

There are also buses operate between cities on regular bases. You can find the info in RTA website.

There is a cheap option for traveling between cities. There are private cars operated secretly from binyas sq. Which I find it unsafe and it's ILLEGAL.

I guess it's relative to where you're coming from but IMHO the taxis in Dubai are incredibly cheap compared to most major cities.

As a matter of perspective, taxis here are cheaper than even those in India (Delhi and Mumbai) for much better vehicles.
For within Dubai or Sharjah/Abu Dhabi, buses are comfortable. Within Dubai, you can also use the metro which is very convenient and cheap.

RTA buses and the metro are your best bets in Dubai. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah also have buses, the main difference is that you pay cash rather than using the RTA Nol card.

By metro, do you mean underground trains?
