Cheap Accomodation in Sydney

Hi there,

My boyfriend is hoping to come to Australia for a visit and this will be his first time here in the country.

How do visitors go about finding cheaper accomodation in Sydney if they wish to stay for a couple of months? Staying in a hotel is going to be just too expensive so if there is a more convenient and cost efficient way that would be great.

Hi mlauren26,

Try doing a search in a search engine for Sydney hostels and that may give you the kind of cheap accommodation that you are after.

We were trying to avoid hostels and go for something a little more private. But thank you for the advice, we appreciate it.

You see this is the problem when people specify 'cheap' accommodation :)
Cheap and private in one of the most expensive cities in the world??!!!

You could try some holiday accommodation that may charge by the week but I doubt it will cheap.

what about backpackers accommodation, every hostel has dorms as well as pvt rooms. You can also try gumtree etc for shared accommodation where two couples share an appt and split bills. or home stay is good as well.. Google it and you will get plenty of options
