Hi all,

We've just been informed that our landlord wants to sell our flat, which is a bit annoying, but that's life.

Anyway, my husband is concerned that this might complicate things when we apply for FLR next year. Do we have to report a change of address to the home office? If so, does it cost anything to do so? He thinks it would cost £500 but I'm not sure where he got this figure from. Please tell me he's wrong!

No, it costs nothing to report a change of address. You just do it online at https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp/youre-in-the-uk-and-dont-have-a-brp

Are you sure it won't affect our FLR application? My husband is concerned that, if we move house, it might make them doubt our legitimacy.

It shouldn't as you are presumably still living together?
Make sure, as soon as you move, you put tenancy, council tax and utilities in joint names.
