Hello,

I am British, my wife is Chilean. We are married and have lived in Germany for 4 and 5 years respectively, 2 of which are under the same roof.

We are about to send through our Surinder Singh application for the EEA Family permit.

One part i'm confused about is the translation requirements. The Government websites requests certified translations of all non-English documents.

The translation company I want to use is asking whether it has to be an exact replica (expensive!) or an excerpt that translates the important information.

Does anyone know? Has anyone been through the visa process with advice regarding translations?
