Hi all...I have recieved my first payment of carers allowance and have been backdated by 3 months. What I wanted to know is can I use the date from when my claim was backdated from and state this as the start date when completing the spouse visa application? so instead of waiting 6 months to complete my application will it be 3?
I have yet to receive my award letter.

I don't think it really matters. You just need to be in receipt of carer's allowance at the time of application.

Thanku for your reply.
I am a bit confused about the carers allowance and having a part time job. I have one five year old child. I am on a 0 hour contract but I don't work over 15 hours. When I do work will that lessen the other benefits and effect the money I have to show I am getting to be successful with my application. I believe it will have to be around £180 pw, is that correct?
