I am thinking of buying a car in France. However, everything I have read says I require an utility bill or equivalent. The house is in my daughter' s name and therefor so will the utility bill. Does this present a problem and if so how do I overcome it?

You can either register the car in your daughter's name or get a statement from her stating that you live there with her. Do you receive any bills at that address? (What they need - for the registration of the vehicle - is proof of residence.)

You could try uk tax return and/or bank statement. Driving licence...does it have and address on it????...or the paper that comes with the licence? What is acceptable seems to vary a lot. If you have any "government" letters that will help..State Pension??
