hi,
I've been reading up on duty when you enter Australia, will i be expected to pay duty/g.s.t on a camera if its nine months old and cost 1500 us dollars. It will be with me when i fly in. Im finding the topic somewhat confusing so would appreciate some information.
Thanks in advance Tom:plane:

If customs know that it's under 12 months old then there will be duty to pay but when we went through customs no-one asked us at all about any of items and that included a laptop.

Regards,
Karen

they normally do not bother much with things that are used unless they are very new and have no sign of being used and are box packed. I have friends who took 5-6 months old TVs, DVD Players, Cams, Laptops, all fr personal use and no one asked them a thing..
