Hi - please can we ask for advice? We've just returned from a long recce of Victoria and have decided to emigrate next year.

We are just over 45 and are fortunate to qualify for a business visa other than being just the wrong side of 45 (still under 50 - omg, that sounds so old). Anyone recommend an agency or will we be ok going direct via immi.gov.au?

We're intending to live in the Mentone area of Melbourne, ideally between Black Rock and the Mornington Peninsula.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Angela123,

How long does a business visa take to process?

We went for a skilled independent visa which we had been told would take about 18 - 24 months (for skills assessment and visa application). We were 38 and would lose even more points after 40 so we wouldn't have been able to get in. Based on that we decided that we needed an agent because we didn't have the time to get it wrong.

Regards,
Karen
