Hi new to the site and would like to find out for hubby who presently runs his own building/joinery business in England if there are different rules that apply for builders/joiners moving to France? All advice would be welcome thanks.

Rules in respect of what? Running a business or building standards?

Hubby will be semi-retired so not wanting to run a business in France just to do building/joinery work. What are the building standards? and do they apply to all builders/joiners? thanks

I think you'll find that the rules of work (even casual work) are quite a bit different in France than what you're used to in the UK. And the building standards probably are, too. (At the very least, the rules and regulations for building standards are generally only available in French.)

You could start with the website for the Ministry in charge of Construction, Buildings and whatever else they group in there: Bâtiment et construction - Ministère du Développement durable There is a big push on for sustainable development and "ecological" building standards.
Cheers,
Bev
