Currently waiting on my new US passport to arrive from Embassy in my new married name. When applying for a new BRP in my new name, can anyone advise on waiting times? I am traveling for my honeymoon in September.

If I receive my new passport, but have not updated my BRP by the time I travel, can I bring both my old and new passport for re-entry following my honeymoon? I am concerned because my passport has not arrived yet and it has been 2 months, when the wait time was 4. Anyone have similar experiences they could share?

Really appreciate it, cheers,
C:fingerscrossed:

I'd say about 3-4 weeks.
While you have to get a new BRP within 3 months or you'll be fined up to £1,000 or have your stay curtailed, I recommend getting a new BRP as soon as possible. It isn't so important for those without BRP (like those on spouse visa they applied abroad for), but for those with BRP, your document should be updated at the earliest opportunity.
