Downing street has published details of who will be eligible to
vote in the proposed British referendum on the EU in 2017.

Basically the franchise - as to who will be eligible to vote - will be the
same as those who are entitled to vote in a UK General Election.
This means that all British Expats who are entitled to vote as a
British Overseas voter will be able to vote in the forthcoming
vote on Britains membership of the EU.

IMPORTANT - All British Expats and overseas citizens who want their
say during the run up to the forthcoming Referendum on Britains
membership of the EU. Should register as a British Overseas voter.
The procedure is quite easy and you can even register online, these
days. The only caveat is that you should have been resident in the
UK within the last 15 years.

It goes without saying that this will be the most important vote that
British Overseas Voters are ever likely to make. So make sure your voice
is heard and your vote is counted. Being a British Overseas voter also entitles you to write or email your British MP over any concerns in government policy.
