I have been offered a job in Penrith but hubby will prob be working in CBD would like some advice about what are the best family suburbs to move to. We have 5 year old daughter and would like to send her to catholic primary school. Iwould like to keep my communte to around 40 mins in the morning.... have car with job

I'd recommend you look at suburbs like Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Kings Langley, West Pennant Hills. As a rough guide the further east you go the nicer the suburb but the longer to travel and rent is more expensive.

I was going to suggest the same suburbs. Regarding Catholic Schools, there are two Catholic Education Offices in \ around Sydney.
Catholic Education Office Parammatta for the more western suburbs, they have a great map with schools indicated: Schools by map
Catholic Education Office Sydney lists more central schools: Catholic Education Office Sydney - Our Schools
Sounds like you will need to look at both.
