Does anyone know what the average weekly shop cost is for a family of 4 in Perth please. I am trying to think of all costs and compare to UK. So far I am comparing electric water and health. Have I forgotten anything that we don't have in the UK?

Why are you comparing prices to the UK ?

If you convert the cost of goods and services in Australia to GBP, with the pound at a historic low, you a result that is completely irrelevant unless your going to be paid in GBP when you move to Australia.

What you need to be looking at is Australian income in AUD and what percentage the costs of goods and services in Australia are of income.

This will give you a ratio, then do the same for your current circumstances in the UK and compare the two ratios and you see what your standard of living will be like in Australia.
