Hello All,

I have just initiated ACS .Point wise I am on the verge with 60 points. My Australian experience is (>1 year) is contributing 5 points. However, I am not sure how the experience is calculated. Is it based on the days or just the months. My exp is as follows

2005 Nov - 2009 Aug- India
2009 Aug-2009 Sep - Aus
2009-Sep 2010 Mar - India
2010 Mar - 2011 Dec - Australia
2011 Dec- 2012 Mar -India
2012 Mar - 2012 July -Australia
2012 July - 2012 Aug India
2012 Aug -2013 Mar - Australia.

If months are inclusive , my onsite experience will be 37 months which will give me additional 5 points. How exactly it will be accessed? Please share your views.

Were you paid in home or host company? Did you work under 457 Visa?

I have a total experience of 9+ years starting from 2008. I was in company 1 for 7 years and company 2 for 2+ years. I was in Australia for around 18 months between 2011 and 2013. I was on 457 VISA with company 1. I came back to India post 2013.

I am in the process of submitting my ACS applications. What is the best way to show the 18 month Australian experience, if I have to show it individually?

I have received a statutory declaration that mentions this 18 month period and I have uploaded it as part of the 7 year experience with Company 1. I have not mentioned the Australian work experience separately.

How do I proceed?

Depending on how closely your degree is associated to the field in which you have worked, ACS will deduct 2 or 4 years from your work experience, they will mention it in the letter.
If they deduct 2 years(nov 20005 to nov 2007) there are chances that you might be able to claim 10 points for your 3 years Oz experience.

I did post a breakup of how it is calculated recently in this forum, will see if I can locate it for you, but give it search. You will mention the Australia experience separately.
