Hi,

My wife and I are Indian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia. Our 4-month-old daughter was born in Australia and has an Australian Birth Certificate. We are now trying to apply for an Australian passport for her, and I'm seeing conflicting information online regarding the following:

1. Is her birth certificate sufficient for proof of citizenship or should we obtain citizenship certificate? (we initially saw websites mention the former, but the online application form seems to want the latter)

2. For her to be able to travel to India, should we apply for PIO or the OCI? Some websites mention she is only eligible for PIO (as we, her parents, are Indian citizens) but some others mention OCI rules have been changed.

Appreciate any clarity that experienced members can provide. Thanks!
