Greetings All...!

I am planning to apply for a PR in couple of months. Currently in the process of

1. Acquiring experience letters from my current and previous employers
2. Getting the mark-sheets and degree certificate notarized
3. Preparing for English exam

Threads on this forum have been extremely helpful but still need few definite answers around questions specific to my field. Apologies if I am asking the same questions. Below is my profile and then some questions for you folks. Please help.

- Nationality - Indian
- I have Bachelor of Electronics Engineering degree Shivaji University Kolhapur
- Around 11 years of experience in IT industry as QA with three different organizations

Few Questions -

1. I am considering to apply under "ANZSCO 261313 - Software Engineer". Is it correct choice?
2. Will Electronics engineering be considered as ICT Major?
3. Skills assessment from ACS is the correct choice or should I go with some other agency. If yes, then, which one?
4. Notarizing / certifying is must for all documents, that is, educational and experience letter both or only educational?
5. Notarizing / certifying needs to be done by Gazetted officer or a Lawyers signature and stamp will be enough?
6. There is gap in employment of about 5 months. Do I need to provide documented justification for that or the agency will decide upon that themselves about the reason? Or simply not include this in overall experience?
7. PTE or IELTS? In terms of relevance not difficulty level.
8. Age - 25, Education - 15, Experience - 15/10 [considering 3-4 years deduction from overall work ex] and English - 20 / 10 [trying for 20]; Best Case - 75 and worst case - 60
In your opinion, do I stand a chance with worst case scenario?

Thanks a lot in advance for the help. Hoping to hear from you guys.

Cheers, Omkar

1. 261314 looks more likely to suit your job title.
However, job titles are deceptive and it's the RNR which determines whether you should go for 261313 or 261314
But be very sure that you can prove decisively that you are into software coding etc. As Software engineer And not simply into testing.
Your company HR and managers should also backup your claims when DIBP calls them us for verification

2. Many members have got a positive assessment with electronic engineering under 261313 with 4 years deductions in experience.
But I am a layman and have never been able to understand the basis in which these years are deducted
So do recheck and wait for other members opinions

3. ACS looks to be the best bet as far as I can see

4. if you go for ACS, then all documents have to be notarised irrespective of what they are

5. You can get The notarisation done by any notary. You can get them by the dozens outside any court in your city in India
Just make sure that he uses all the correct words and stamps while doing the same as required by ACS

6. Give details of each employment from day 1
Do not omit any employment or unemployment period

7. Members here on the forum overwhelmingly believe that PTEA is much easier to score then IELTS

8. Assuming you go for 261313
189
No chance with 60 .
Some chance with several months wait which may well extend to a year under 65
immediate round or next round invites with 70 points

261314 you have to go for state sponsorship only and that cannot be predicted as they do not follow any fixed timeline
Higher points may increase your chances but cannot be guaranteed lIke 189

Submit you EOI and wait for invite which may happen in a day or never

Cheers
