Hello,

My husband is going to apply for UK Ancestry visa and I will be applying as a dependent. We own a property and have a mortgage, and our main/everyday account is a revolving credit account attached to our mortgage. The account is basically a $40000 home loan which our salaries are paid in to and all of our everyday transactions are done from, however we can draw funds saved at any time. We have built up around $33200 of available funds, but as the account is a home loan, our bank statements show that we are in overdraft by around $6000.

We have statements which at the end state that we have $33200 available funds, and a letter from the bank confirming we have that amount available, however I'm concerned that as account does show that we are overdrawn our application will be declined.
Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks so much.

Don't worry about it. All you need to show is you have around £3,000 available as start-up funds till you get sorted with jobs etc.
