Hello!

Me and my wife are considering moving to NZ and I'm wondering whether we can apply for PR offshore. I'm asking this because I'm an OZ while she's not and I want for both of us to move together and for her to have the opportunity to look for a job and work.

Is there a path for Australians to apply for PR offshore?

Many thanks :)

You're unable to get PR straight away but as an AUS citizen you will be given NZ Resident Visa on entry assuming you meet the basic criteria for health and character. Since you are then an NZ Resident Visa holder and you are declaring that you wish to remain in NZ permanently then a partner will be able to apply for a partnership resident visa because of the relationship between you assuming she also meets the basic criteria. She may have to apply for an interim temporary visa whilst the residency is being processed. To apply for PR you must remain in NZ for minimum 2 years on RV and then you can apply for PR.
