Hi everyone!
I'm British and my husband is Argentinian. He is going to apply for a Visa to join me in England and we originally planned for him to apply for the Visa while in Argentina (I'll be in England). However we're wondering if he will be able to apply from another country. His brother lives in Spain and it will be easier if he can travel there as a tourist and apply from there. a) Will this be possible or does he have to be in Argentina?

b) He would be unemployed so wouldn't be providing payslips, etc as part of his application. Could being unemployed make it harder to get the Visa?

One last question c) We know that he will need the IELTS certificate, but what do the number B1, B2, C1, C2, refer to? Is it the scoreof the overall exam?

Thank you in advance! :) :)

He can apply from his home country or a country where he is normally resident. That means he has to be living in a country on a long term visa. He can't apply from Spain whilst on a tourist visa.

His employment or lack there of has no impact on the application.

Those are levels. B2 is higher than B1 i.e. more difficult.
