Hi Expats,

I'm an IT professional and I've got through the ACS & IELTS. Already I've applied for Victoria on March 1st. Since I really want to apply before the July changes, I was thinking to apply for the NSW as well as it is bit fast in processing compared to Vic (Vic 12 weeks & NSW 3-4Weeks). But I'm bit reluctant to apply to NSW as there is a fee of A$300 and waiting for the Vic response before apply to NSW.

Could you please let me know what would be the best possible date until which I can wait for the Vic response before applying to NSW? Please consider that I'll have to apply for the VISA after getting one of the state sponsor response.

Thanks in advance.. I really appreciate your help!!

Hello

IMO, time is short, so go for Victoria and NSW in parallel ( I did the same). Also be prepared to apply for 175 as well in case there is rejection from both

Apply parallel as other member said. if you bother about the fee you might not get the PR itself! don't mind spending few thousand bucks else you have to risk your PR itself.

After one gets approval from applied state, how much time you have to submit your application to DIAC before State Approval expires?

Sorry, I didn't get your question clearly.. Do u want to know wht is the predicted time for the DIAC application procedure?
No problem.

As per my understanding to apply to state applicant applies it on that state's site by sending papers online or via post. once applicant gets state approval, then they have to apply for get 176 visa, fill the online application and apply for visa. I hope I m thinking the process correctly?

So once state gives the approval, then person may choose to apply to DIAC immdly or after sometime. I want to know that how much time is granted by State to apply to DIAC for visa? Because if I dont apply to diac in next 3-4 months, I suppose my state approval will expire.

I varies from state to state. For Victoria it is 4 months, for WA I think it is 30 days. Check on respective state websites for time lines.

I also applied for both Victoria and NSW and got approval from both. for NSW, you have to resend them the filled Form1 within 90 days in order to confirm your sponsorship.

I applied on 10th january 2012 and got approval email on 16th of february 2012. It was a coincidence that both approval came on the same date although one via email and other via postal mail.

I also applied for NSW and VIC in parallel on 9 Mar. I got reference number from VIC today ( 16 Mar) but nothing from NSW yet. NSW might have reached them only a couple of days ago.

fabregas,
When did you get acknowledgement from NSW? Do they even send one?

This is something I am not sure about. I have 75 points already without SS.

It's just that 176 is so much faster and seems attractive option compared to long months of waiting for 175. Also, given my job domain, I want to live in Melbourne or Sydney so 2 year obligation doesn't bother me.

Its only been a week since i applied for SS and I will probably wait for sometime (don't know how long) before going for 175.

Seeking advise from seniors on this.

That was quick. I applied on Mar 9 so my documents would have reached a couple of days ago. Do you know average time they take to acknowledge?

it should take 1 to 2 days after they received your documents. Did you use DHL?. I used them and got the delivery alert from DHL after 2 days of sending and on 30th I got an email from NSW guys acknowledging my application and telling me that I would get receipt of the payment soon and on 1st of February i got the pdf file containing receipt of my payment.

I used FirstFlight courier because we often use it. I just called them up and got to know that application is yet to be delivered.

DHL is expensive but very prompt and fast in delivery. They charged me 2500 INR and docs reached on early 3rd day
