depends on what you want to use it for. for most things a german birth certificate wont need to be apostilled but a sworn translation will be needed… for some purposes an apostille will be needed. if in doubt apostille it! an apostille is an international certification that the document (or more importantly) the official seals and signatues on it are genuine….
