Hello,

I have few questions of the process to switch visa from Tier 2 ICT dependent to Tier 2 General as my current company is currently discussing the prospect. If someone with a prior experience of this visa switch it will be great if you can help here.

1. When do I need to travel to the home country for the visa procedure? Can the application be submitted online from uk and then I travel to home country for visa biometric/ application submission?

2. What is the min salary which needs to be paid to an tier 2 general employee

3. What are the steps the sponsorship employer need to perform for the tier 2 general visa application? Can I get a step wise guidance of each level so that I can according inform my employer.

Appreciate any help in this. Thanks!

#1 Yes, you can do that.
#2 This depends on the occupation. Look at Tier 2 Guidance and shortage occupation list (if relevant).
#3 To generate certificate of sponsorship, which is an online document with reference number, which you quote on your application. Look at sponsor's duty in the Guidance, as it can be quite involved, including resident labour market test (if applicable).
