I am heading to Almeria on Sept 4th for 2 weeks.

I am staying in Almeria for 2 nights to take a walk down memory lane, spent 5 months here a very long tie ago.

I also want to visit the tourist centre, with a plan to explore the different coast lines left and right of Almeria.

It ill be another year or so before I can move so I am hoping to get stuck in to research asap, while also taking some time for sun, walking and sea.

If anyone would be kind enough to meet up for coffee and or to assist me with my journey by sharing information I would be obliged.

Considering Playa La Vera and Roquetas de Mar and or Al-Andalus Thalassa looks gorgeous. Are the buses reliable, I would rather keep my carbon imprint to a minimum. I really want a break from driving.

Is it safe in Almeria early evening.

Where is there a market on the weekend please?

Finally, I fly into Almeria and the quotes I am getting for a taxi is well over 220E

The journey looks to be about 20 mins on google maps. Can I get a bus or train?

Is that 220 euros or 22 euros?

Look here;

58€

Buses;

where did you get that number for a taxi? 220 o 380€??
I think you´ve made a mess with other places, data or numbers or ,perhaps, you have found a real scammer.

it has occurred to me that they may think I am flying into a different airport. I thought a bus along the coast would be wonderful. Thank you so much for your assistance. I will follow up on that link this afternoon.

How is it possible to confuse point of arrival in Spain? You give someone the following information to get a quote:
  1. Arrival location
  2. Arrival time
  3. Flight number
  4. Number of people
  5. Amount of baggage
Beyond this you agree method of payment.

Are you sure you can find the bus you need and it will be running at the time you end it? It is one thing making plans in the comfort of your own home, but quite another to be standing in 40C heat, not speaking the language and not knowing what to do or where to go, when you arrive.

You started the thread by stating, "Finally, I fly into Almeria and the quotes I am getting for a taxi is well over 220E"

It would have been helpful if you had qualified what you stated in your opening post that these were just popup prices and you had not actually requested a quote.

A number of people on here have spent their time trying to assist you here, and only latterly you have clarified on this point...

I RECEIVED help from this forum, without judgement, and links to the bus timetables + routes, and a link for taxies.

that is when it got resolved. Please don't feel you have to assist. but it is as you say a different story in 40degree heat

not knowing the location and really not wanting to drive on this trip.
