A question about the legality of sending alcohol through the mail in Spain. My wife and I are soon taking an extended vacation to Spain. I am carrying, as checked baggage across the Atlantic, a commemorative bottle of tequila as a gift for a special friend. We enter Spain via Madrid, and, as soon as the wheels touch down, the bottle becomes an immediate albatross. We have much touring to do in the north prior to winding up in the south at our friend's place, and several of our transits in the north will be by air. This means the bottle must be checked for each flight. We are checking no baggage once we are in Spain, so the bottle cannot accompany us. My thoughts are to pack it well and mail it on from Madrid. Any thoughts or comments on the legality of this. It is legal in most places around the globe due to the "commemorative" status, and I assume Spain will be OK also, but would appreciate any personal experience.
