Does anyone know if an affidavit is sworn in Spain is it valid for Irish law? Is a British/ Irish certifified solicitor required? Many thanks

Having seen your other post, why don't you phone the Irish authorities to ask what they require?
Last year I spoke to them about getting an Irish passport and their attitude to my mother's birth names and date of birth being incorrectly recorded was positively "relaxed to horizontal".
The UK registry office had refused me a long copy of my birth cert because I quoted an "incorrect" middle name for my mother (sorted out over the phone); the Irish accepted me on "the balance of probabilities" that my mother was who I said she was having been born at the house named, but not on the day my grandfather said and with a slightly different first name and no middle name!
