We are expats who have lived in NZ for the last 10 years and looking to move to france (Aquataine,Midi Pyrenees ish area) in April/May next year, our daughters are aged 12 & 14 and need to put them in a school where they will settle in best, Im thinking that an international school would be best? but Im not sure what else there is? any help would be great.

There are English sections within some public schools in France. Basically, these are schools that teach some portion of the classes in English - sometimes all. It's still the French curriculum and admission to the English sections is competitive. Children from an anglophone home are not necessarily guaranteed admission - however, assuming they are decent students overall and the local area isn't overrun with English speaking expats with school aged children, it's usually not too difficult to get native speakers into the section.
Cheers,
Bev
