Hi All.......!

im new here in this forum and i want an advice please!

Im a 31 years old, have wife and one baby living in Qatar originally from iraq , i have a brother living in Sydney and he is a Australian with 4 kids ....

i have finished my study in 2003 in Computer science , and i have worked in Iraq for one year, Jordan 1 years, Dubai 1 year , and now in Qatar for 3 years so far and still working ,i got many positions in my work, as a programmer, IT,Graphic designer ..all my jobs was computing related, i want to apply for immigration to Australia , which visa is suitable for me? 176 Skilled- family sponsor? Or 175 skilled-Independent ? which one is faster to grant? and if i apply for 176 skilled-family should i be in MODL + CSL or just in SOl? and if im under MODL + CSL as a 176 skilled-sponsered is that will make my visa grant faster? or as soon im under family sponsor it will put me in low priority according the new rules?

for now i can have the 110 points which needed for 175 visa , and my job here in qatar can listed under computer professional which is in MODL ....

so please advise me :)

Thnx :)

Welcome Exactly,

You should apply to ACS for your skill assessment before you can process your visa application, your experience 1year in Iraq+ 1 year in Jordan + I year in Dubai and 3 years in Qatar sums up to 6 years of experience which should be enough for ACS purpose (assuming you have completed full time bachelors in Comp Sc.).

One thing I would like to correct in your previous post is the points required for SMV 175 visa is 120 (not 110). However, for SS Visa 176 points required is 100. Please visit the url What is the points test? - Workers - Visas & Immigration for more details.

There are several programming skills like C# specialist, c++ programmer, .net specialist, J2EE, Oracle specialist etc are in CSL, if you can expect priority processing.

SS 176 or/ and CSL application is processed with priority, you can expect your visa to be finalized in 12-18 months.

Best Regards.

You are most welcome Exactly... If you face any issues, you can post it, someone will answer for sure.

Computing professionals -(nec) is non MODL and hence non CSL. Only computing professionals in MODL will also qualify for CSL as listed below.

Computing Professional - specialising in CISSP *
Computing Professional - specialising in C++/C#/C *
Computing Professional - specialising in Data Warehousing
Computing Professional - specialising in Java *
Computing Professional - specialising in J2EE *
Computing Professional - Linux
Computing Professional - .Net technologies
Computing Professional - specialising in Network Security/Firewall/Internet Security
Computing Professional - specialising in Oracle *
Computing Professional - specialising in PeopleSoft *
Computing Professional - specialising in SAP *
Computing Professional - specialising in SIEBEL *
(especially Siebel Analytic)
Computing Professional - Solaris
Computing Professional - Unix

I wish you good luck with your ACS.
Regards,
:)

hi exactly, welcome to the forum

Mr India has replied to your questions already, so wont comment more, just wanted to welcome u to the forum. and make sur eu go through the sticky threads for helpful links etc. there is heaps of information in the forum, do an extensive search and read peoples experiences, it will give u an insight on the entire procedure and where all u can get stuck.

also, family sponsored applications are given priority now.

as for CSL, when u apply for the Assessment from ACS, check the CSL list and make sure you make your CV according to the skill u want to be assessed as. if u give too many fields, they usually give u a systems manager code which is not on CSL. Doesnt mean u skip all the fields u have been working on, but just stress more on what is on CSL. that way you would be on CSL plus family sponsored, which gives gets you priority processing.

hope this helps. for anything else, give us a shout, someone will reply :)

cheers
anj
