Is it possible to gain two suitable positions with different references from ACS..

I already got the title "Computer network and system engineer" and was going to apply in South Australia but unfortunately, it went from high availability to special condition apply. I believe i am also qualified for ICT Security Specialist, so can I submit a new application with ACS and hence they would issue a new position with a different reference using the same information provided earlier. I want to do this as a backup plan while i am still working on IELTS as in case the first position is closed entirely everywhere then i can have another title that I can use for immigration.

If I gain two suitable positions from ACS, would this cause any trouble in future with DIAC when they verify with ACS?

Hi Alex_2011,

actually it is quite common to have a certain skills overlap between multiple ANZSCO codes. If you want to get re-assessed in a second code that won't be a problem. ACS states on that topic:

Only one (1) application can be active at any one time.
If you require to be assessed under more than one (1) ANZSCO code, please lodge a “Review Application” after your application has been finalized and you have receive your result letter.
All the best,
Monika

I understand about the review, but I have some concerns.. First and foremost, if the first code is expired, then i cannot renew it. I will have the right to renew the last code (which is the second in our case). Secondly, if they give me a second code with the same reference used for first code then it will cause confusion for DIAC in case I had to apply for the first position, as when DIAC check with ACS about the reference and they find out that I have two positions and I applied for the first one not the second one..This will create a question mark!

Like I said i am not sure anymore whether i will apply for the first or second position for the immigration as positions availability are changing periodically , so i just want to have a backup plan..

So my question again: If I submit a new application with ACS, would they issue a different reference for the new position or they will link it with the previous reference and therefore, both positions will have the same reference and as a result, i will be only having the right to apply for the latest position i get from ACS and will never be able to use the first one for immigration purpose?
