Hi Seniors,

I have done MCA (full time) and MBA IT (full time) from India. I am having around 11 years of IT Experience as Business Analyst post qualification. I am applying for the Business Analyst job code. I wanted to go for ACS and am quite confused. Should I get all my qualification assessed or only my MCA qualification assessed. Also I am not sure how many years will be deducted from my experience. I have different stories that they are deducting around 4 years for someone who has done MCA. My graduation in non ICT (Chem Hons). Please let me know if I should show all my qualification for assessment or only my MCA.

Please suggest

Regards,
Prashant Kumar

Dear kumar

Send your MBA degree. If your graduation degree includes any management or IT subject then send it. Otherwise, I believe MBA will serve the cause.:fingerscrossed:

If your MBA IT degree includes atleast 65% of ICT courses then it will be treated as major in computing and your experience would be considered as closely related.

I would recommend to send both MCA and MBA because I am assuming that since your MBA is in IT then it would have atleast 65% of IT courses.

If not then also send both because your both degrees are related to IT.

I am yet to come across anyone whose MBA degree is assessed as ICT major. MCA is enough for positive assessment. However it wont harm if you send both. ACS will sought it out.

I agree with Danav. Even I did the same. I sent both my MBA degree and BE IT degree for BA assessment. They simply said my BE IT is suitable. So, nothing wrong in sending all you got. Also I think with the years of exp you have, education wont be an issue for positive assessment.
