Hi,
Moving to Aquitaine/Midi Pyrenees region in late 2014/early 2015. Setting up a residential business. Aware there can be credits for some home adaptations in a domestic situation, does this also apply to business’s. As a provider of ‘hospitality’ I will need to meet any access legislation so I am thinking ramps/lifts/specialised bathroom fittings etc. Not looking for reimbursements, just trying to clarify situation.
First posting, appreciate any opinions/experiences/advice.

You should contact the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie (CCI) in the departement where you'll be living. They should be aware of any subventions for start-up businesses related to access (though I wouldn't hold my breath). There are lots of laws on the books here, but they aren't terribly well enforced and many established businesses remain inaccessible to handicapped people.

Most of the tax or other financial assistance for access that I know of is related to personal need - i.e. someone on the French sécu system who needs ramps or whatever in their own home.
Cheers,
Bev

Many thanks Bev, really it's just a case of building these things into my plan. I will follow your CCI advice. Over in 2014February to see what the off season is like so I can make first investigations then.
Pete.
