I am planning to submit EOI for 189 skillset visa after july 1 when the ceilings are supposed to reset.
Could someone please clarify my below questions?
1. ACS assessment - I have a mechanical degree and will submit ACS RPL form to get the skills evaluated.
I understand that ACS will remove 6 years from my experience.
My questions is whether they will still assess my 4 year mechanical degree as equivalent to australian 4 year degree, even when it does not have ICT content.
Can I claim 15 points for my degree?

2. I am currently working but will be going for further education from september.
Will it have any effect on my application as I would not be working anymore?
If I get invited, my application will be under process while I am still studying. Do i have to inform them that my status has changed?

I would really appreciate if someone can help me with these questions.

Claiming points for a degree is different than the skills assessment. You could have a degree in Accounting and be able to count it regardless of the occupation you're applying under.

There's no requirement for you to be employed at the time you apply for a visa.

As my degree is non ICT, ACS won't assess it.
Do I have to get the degree assessed again through a different organization to be able to claim points?
There is a difference in opinion on this forum and hence my doubt.
