I have received 491 family sponsored regional invite on 11dec.

As my sister who is the sponsor for me stays in ACT, am I supposed to stay in ACT only or can I stay in any other designated regional area like Perth where there is scope for IT jobs after Sydney, melboune, Brisbane.

The person can do a job in any of the regional areas, could you pls share the current trend of score of 491 Family sponsored visa, My score is 75+15 regional area points & my occupation is a software engineer, I am applying for NSW Wollongong regional area

FS 491 can live and work in any regional area without any restrictions

Are you onshore or offshore ?
491 rounds are also targeted rounds inviting very specific Anzsco codes
Right now points don’t have the value as it was earlier

No one can predict in this scenario of targeted invites
You just have to wait patiently and maybe endlessly without getting frustrated
For a couple of years, I don’t see offshore applicants being invited in big numbers in highly contested engineering codes
Lastly but not the least, I don’t see how software engineers without local experience get job in regional Australia
Most will just end up doing odd jobs, spending their life savings and in the end going back to their home country penniless
491 for software engineers is a trap set by DHA to get cheap young labour in the regions for picking fruits or stocking shelves etc without giving PR
