No, it depends on your occupation and your nationality. If you are intending to work in the medical field or with children, then you need a full medical.

If you are from a low risk country (check the DIAC website for the full list of countries), then no medical is required. For citizen of medium risk countries, then a chest x-ray is required.

Assuming that you are from Ireland and you will not be working in the medical field or with children, then you will not require a medical.

Hi we are moving from Ireland to oz and going on a 457 visa, we need chest X-rays only - no full medical required as we are a medium risk country. Where you hoping to head too

Many from low risk countries don't need a medical and a 457 is not a migration visa, its a temporary work visa that may or may not lead to PR.
