457 visa to permanent residency (856?)

Hi, Can anyone please help? I am joint managing director of a UK company who have agreed and been approved to sponsor me to go to Oz on 457 visa and start new international branch of the business in Queensland. Just going thru process of stage 2, getting my application as the nominee approved, then will apply for visa. My question is, if I like it sooo much, which I probably will, and business also needs me to stay on, and I have shares in this new company, will I be able to apply for 856 visa for permanent residency? I will be between 46-49 tho so will have to go for the age exepmtion factor. If anyone gone this route would appreciate feedback. Thanks,

Hi:

I have done this successfully, however I did not use an age exemption. If at all possible try to get your 856 application in before age 45, that way you don't have to worry about the age exemption. The processing time is quite good as well (months at most).

The 856 is basically the same application as a 175/176 PR application (same checks), however you don't have to go offshore to validate your visa once received.

Hi there,

Good luck with the move over.

Just out of interest, which part of Bucks are you from? We moved over from Chesham a couple of years ago.

Hi, We are currently renting in Edlesborough, near Dunstable,Beds border. Where do you live now? We are aiming to set up new business in Queensland ( about an hour north Brisbane hopefully. ). :)

Hi, Will look at that other 175/176 PR application thanks. Unfortunately, already 45 so can't turn back the clocks! Never mind.:D
