Hi,

I have been working in Australia on a 457 visa for the past 14 months. I am trying to get an ENS 186 Direct Entry through my company. I really do not want to go through the skills assessment and the IELTS if I can avoid it. Mostly want to avoid the skills assessment since it will require procuring all those stat dec's from previous bosses which can be a bit of a pain.

I "read the manual" and discovered that there are exemptions. Of interest is the exemption criteria - "have nominated earnings at least equivalent to the current Australian Taxation Office top individual income tax rate" ($180k).

Question is - My base salary is 160k, however with the variable bonus etc (which I hardly actually receive) it does go up to $190k. Would the exemption apply at all to my case?

Would be great if somebody knows ..

Cheers.
