457 - how much longer? :-(

hi there! im doing my 457 visa online, and it shows my health requirements were finalised on 22 september, and confirmation of my health insurance was recieved on 29 september. does anyone know roughly how much longer il have to wait til i have my visa??? i know every case is different, im just getting antsy! xx

Hi,

I know how frustrating this final wait is....have you checked the timeline sticky at the top of the forum page for other 457 timelines?

yes, unfortunately there doesnt seem to be many 457 timelines attached. at least i know the wait is going to be worth it when i get over there! :)

We started the application for our 457 visa in July this year. It was dealt with an agent in Sydney but processed online. My actual part of the application process started on 31 July and was approved on 10 August. I was told this was due to the strength of the applications both Employer and myself. I would say it was helped by the agent as he made sure everything was in place before the application started.

I hope this gives you hope as it should happen pretty soon

Hi Sian

We used Richard Shakenovsky Lawyers in Sydney, well my employer did! I am sponsored as an IT Business Information Officer.

my timeline so far, as a mental health nurse applying for a 457 visa, without using an agent:

17/4 joined a recruitment agency
30/5 application for Nurses Board of Victoria sent
1/7 nurses registration confirmed
15/7 job interview for North Western Mental Health
23/7 job offer received
24/8 TRN received
26/8 online 457 application received
26/8 visa application fee received
31/8 application being processed further
31/8 medical documents required
7/9 medicals taken
22/9 additional info required - confirmation of health insurance
22/9 medicals shown as finalised online
25/9 health insurance documents received


now i hope all ive got to do is wait patiently.................................
