Hi All

Can i know when does a calender year start per visit?

My mom got told she stayed for more than 6 months for calender year!

previous visit was July to Dec 2016 but we did like 5 days in paris and a week in dubai during that period. total days stayed in UK was 128 days.

this time she arrive today and will be leaving on 29 march 2018 as i am pregnant and we will not be going abroad and she is here to spend time with her grand daughter.

the immigration offer said going to put a record on her visit.

we never think of breaking any immigration law. even paid extra to get departure date change as the date calculator did not include leaving date.

can anyone enlightening me on their calculation?

Many Thanks
Kitara

Entrance is always at the discretion of the border officer. In general, you can visit the UK for 6 months in a 12 month period. However, repeated lengthy visits will raise suspicions and that's probably what happened. It can look like you are trying to live in the UK without an appropriate visa.

Only reason we are not going out of the country this year is because i am heavily pregnant and will pop anytime soon.

Normally we will go holiday in Europe/ Middle East or any other country that is on this side of the Globe.
