Hi,

I made the application to 176 Visa before last July changes, but had to delay as my wife delivered a baby last October. I've submitted all the medicals & police clearance by mid of Dec and still I haven't received the results.

Is this normal after delaying due to pregnancy? Is it ok if I send a mail to CO & ask for update? Any others having the same delay recently pls?

Hi slexpat,

if the medical results were sent in the "old-fashioned" way (via paper forms) you can expect some delay at Global Health - even if everything is fine and the medicals don't get referred. It took almost exactly two months until our results showed up in the eVisa system. If they are referred and need to be looked at by a MOC (= Medical Officer of the Commonwealth) you can expect an even longer wait (see this thread).

You can certainly contact your CO and politely inquire if (s)he has received everything or if some documents are still pending.

All the best,
Monika

One month before when I got an update from the CO, it was like follows:

"I am just waiting on the MOC to make the final decision now. I will let you know once they are finalised"

Also the status in eVisa is like "Further medical results referred" against mine while my wife's one is ok with Further medical results received.

So according to your answer above, it might take quiet long time to get response from MOC is it?

Hi slexpat,

yes, unfortunately Global Health is currently quite the bottleneck. The problem is not so much that it takes the MOC so long to make a decision (unless if the medical condition is more complicated and they require you to undertake additional examinations or consult a local specialist) - rather, the pile of medicals in the queue is so long. Seems like you can expect a total wait of roughly 3 months...

If you want to compare timelines with others in the queue:

Thanks Monika for the reply. The links u gave were very useful. I've contacted the list of people in that thread and found there are people waiting for the response from Nov. So I need to wait further with crossed fingers :(
