Sports teams and celebrities among those facing visa refusals

A lawn bowls team, blind cricket players and pipe band members may not seem the obvious candidates to have visas refused but these lesser known groups seem to be having increasing problems.

The latest is the Indian lawn bowls team that was invited to play at the St Johns Park Bowling Club in Sydney but Australian officials have denied them visas amid concerns they could not financially support themselves in Australia.
