Edmonton is a city located on the northern section of Canada’s Saskatchewan River that serves as the capital of the province of Alberta. Blessed with fertile farmlands, its status as the second largest city in Alberta nevertheless imparts it with a thoroughly contemporary and sophisticated character that can rival even the world’s centers of culture and entertainment.In spite of Edmonton’s many contributions in terms of architecture, culture, entertainment and leisure, it is first and foremost a river town and because of this the city’s foremost distinguishing features are its many river valley parks.
