Default Where to live

am not sure if I am posting this in the right place or not but my husband and I live in France and are looking to move to America. We just don't know where.
We would like a pretty place with nice weather (4 seasons) and a population of about 3,000 - 5,000 preferably a place where there are a few farms might be nice. A place that has a fair or something in the summer. Just a nice little country town that is picturesque with some tourism would be perfect!

Does it exist? Please if you could give me any recommendations I would really appreciate it. I live in Confolens France and we are essentially looking for a copy of this town but in America.

Thank you for your help!

Lauren & Graham

What sort of visa will you be using to move to the US? I only ask because there is no "retirement" visa - you usually need either a job (i.e. an employer to sponsor you) or you need a close family member to sponsor you for an immigrant visa.

Have you been to the US before? If so, where? And what did you think of that area? If not, you should seriously consider taking a few vacations to areas that might be of interest to you. It's a big country with lots of different areas - each with its own pluses and minuses.

Hi thanks for your message. I am actually American. So no need for a visa. Also I am 25 so no retirement just yet! haha, I haven't lived in America since I was 10. We left after Hurricane Katrina and I haven't been back. I'm just trying to get an idea of a list of areas to research that way we know where we might like to go on holiday to to see if we like it. The list of places is huge when you have nowhere to start! Otherwise we are going to have to holiday in every state before we decide. (hopefully not. It would be so expensive! )

Four seasons limits you. If you don't want to deal with extreme winter cold that limits you even more. You're looking at the NE or the NW.

Considering your age I'd think more about job opportunities.

Great thanks.
My husband and I each have our own businesses and real estate investments so I am just looking for a nice town to bring up a family. Thanks for your input. I will start looking in the ne and nw.
Thanks again!

Your husband will need a visa if he is not a US citizen

Thank you for all of your concerns about me getting visas or my husbands visa and jobs however we are both American and do not need jobs. I am actually just looking for advice on nice small towns ( as mentioned in my original post) to look into. If anyone knows of any I would really appreciate it.

Thank you all for your replies
