Default Covid-19 & e3

Hi,

We are coming up to renew visa's and the current world situation is creating an unusual.

Currently, my husband is on E3 and myself and 3 kids are on E-3D. I also have an EAD and have a current job.

My husband is going to renew his E3 but because the EAD process is so time-consuming (and I don't want to have to stop work for months waiting for the approval), I am thinking of applying for my own separate E3.

I was going to go back to Australia to do my first E3 while he did his renewal in Mexico. Those plans are out the window now with all the consulates and borders closing.

We have read on the USCIS website that we can renew and/or apply by post.

1. Has anyone successfully applied for a new E3 by this process, whilst in the US? I should note - the actual application is going to be a change in status from E3D to E3 to receive the Notice of Approval (then I'd travel to get the visa in my passport when borders open back up).
2. Has anyone successfully renewed their E3 visa through the USCIS?

Any advice, or what are others doing at this time.

Thanks.
