Default E2 to Greencard - Work Advise

I am marrying a US citizen this month and I was wondering what happens with my current E2 Visa? Once I am married i will be applying for the Greencard immediately.
I understand that the E2 Visa will immediately be removed - is that correct?
Can I apply to work for a different company immediately or do I have to stay with the current company that initially sponsored my E2 Visa?
Any help on the process/stipulations would be greatly appreciated!

A person with an E-3 visa may only legally work for their E-3 Visa employer. I assume that if an E-2 Investor has brought you in as an E-2 Employee the same would apply.

Once married your a spouse can sponsor or a green card while the E-2 investor continues to work and manage their business. I assume an employee on an E-2 visa working for the E-2 investor would be the same.

Until the green card is granted via the adjustment of status process, I believe you would need to continue employment with your E-2 sponsor.
