Default New immigrant Rental Advice

Hi All,

Well i am immigrating to USA next month and I will be moving to VA. I need your advice if i can get a place to rent with budget of 1000 USD for me and my family(wife and 18 months old daughter). I am not sure where to start from as we are currently not in country.

We do not have any rent/credit history as this is the first time we will be renting our place. I saw on some property sites that rental history is required.

Thanks, if any one could guide us as we will totally stuck right now

Please narrow down Virginia. It is too diversified and large to make a statement about rental cost averages. Your budget is extremely low. No credit history - anticipate 2-3 months rent as deposit.
Have you looked into extended stay hotels? Generally they offer kitchenettes, linen service and rates on rentals over 30 days tend to be cheaper as some taxes do not apply.
Are you moving for a job? If so - have you contacted your employer about temporary arrangements?

Hi Thanks for your kind reply. This is the first time i will enter USA, as my wife is my sponsor(I-130) so i dont have a job yet, and thank you for the advice i will surely look into "extended stay hotels".
And we need a home near to DC as most of the IT/Technical jobs are near DC.

Plus one question, how hard is to find a job initially?
