Default Rental lockdown

I was curious to what will be the way forward for tenants who rent homes if the lockdown continues past their contract expiry dates. I myself was hoping to move on come the end of July and my one year contract but finding a new place and getting a removal firm seems a little awkward. Any thoughts?
I was wondering if a landlord would consider a pay monthly extension or be offended that you are looking to move on. Do not really want to sign for another year for various reasons although the landlord has been very good.
Cheers and take care in these troubled times

I may be incorrect but it looks like you don't understand rental laws in Spain.

Even though the rental contract states that it is for 12 months, the tenant has the right to stay there for up to 5 years without needing to renew the contract.

Once you want to move on, just give the landlord the required one months notice.

Thank you, I admit to being a bit lazy understanding the position but I also thought I read that 3 years is the norm now as the landlord felt he was being compromised that long.
That's why I thought I would ask for a thought or two on this useful forum and as I was wondering if the agent or landlord would contact you to sign something. I know if its not specified in the contract you can terminate after 6 months with a months notice. I will be looking into all this more and once more thank you for taking the time to reply

The law is now 5 years (3 years previously)

You do NOT need to sign anything nor pay the agent anything
