Default Granada for a long weekend

Hi there,
going to Granada for a long weekend (yippee!!) to visit a friend.
Any recommendations other than the obvious Alhambra and Albaicín?
Bars, restaurants (especially vegetarian), streets, exhibitions, museums, shops....

I'll be watching this as we've got a long weekend in Granada booked too!

We used to go every so often before we had kids, but haven't been for over 12 years now,so I guess it has changed a lot.

Start by ordering drinks only. Do not order food until you see the tapas. A couple of those and you won't need to eat any more.

Friend (with Mexican partner) highly recommends this:

Apart from that Sacromonte (don't accept the 'free' invitations to see houses), Mirador San Nicolas.

You need to book in advance for the Alhambra. There's two ticket types, one includes the Palacios and you have to be at the door of the Palacio at a certain time.

Sundays in Granada have a very relaxed atmosphere.

I love the Science Park but appreciate not everyone is as geeky as me!
Parque de las Ciencias

A year ago almost to the day we walked down from Sacromonte to the cathedral, through the Albaicin, quite early in the morning. Stunning! The buskers at the mirador San Nicolas were very entertaining too.

Take the red tourist bus. Buy your ticket after 4 pm and it is valid for the following day as well. Personally I found Granada rather overrated. Favourite visiting location for me, was La Cartuja (hop off the tourist bus, visit, and hope back on a later bus.
